MHS grad Vesta wins NJCAA title


From state champion to national champion, former Manhattan High Indian wrestler Jeff Neosho won a NJCAA national championship at 125 pounds this past weekend in Rochester, MN.  Vesta was ranked #2 all season, and won all five matches at the NJCAA’s, including a 3-2 decision over #1 Steven Romero in the finals.  He went 37-7 this season, and finished his two-year career at Neosho 70-18.  Vesta finished 4th at last year’s national meet.

Vesta won a state title at 103 for Manhattan High as a sophomore in 2007, and was a two-time runner-up at 103 in 2008, and at 112 in 2009.
