The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for theft in the 800 block of Vattier St. in Manhattan on October 4, 2021, around 2:52 p.m. Officers listed a 48-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his Sig Sauer P365XL 9mm handgun. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $600. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 300 block of N. 4th St. in Manhattan on October 4, 2021, around 3:07 p.m. Officers listed a 65-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole her blue Trek Navigator 100 bicycle. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $630. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers responded to the report of an injury accident near mile marker 5 on N. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on October 4, 2021, around 4:32 p.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2003 Honda CBR6 motorcycle driven by Gage Newton, 26, of Junction City that was headed northbound and had lost control and crashed into the side of the road. Newton was transported to Via Christi for treatment of a broken leg.
