    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 2900 block of Anderson Ave. in Manhattan on November 22, 2021, around 10:34 a.m. Officers listed a 69-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole her 2004 Dodge Dakota. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for giving a worthless check and theft in the 2000 block of Fort Riley Ln. in Manhattan on November 22, 2021, around 3:32 a.m. Officers listed 42- and 57-year-old males as the victims when it was reported a 32-year-old male suspect paid for jewelry, coins and furniture from an auction with a check written from a closed bank account. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,490.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery and interference with LEO in Manhattan on November 22, 2021, around 5:50 p.m. Officers listed a 33-year-old female when it was reported a 30-year-old male suspect injured her. Taylor Christian Morris, 30, of Manhattan was arrested in connection for aggravated domestic battery and interference with LEO. Morris is currently confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $14,000.
