The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for domestic battery, criminal damage to property, intimidation of a witness or victim, and failure to appear in Manhattan on April 5, 2021, at approximately 8:36 a.m. Officers listed a 36-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 29-year-old male suspect battered her, damaged a microwave and an iPhone 8, and prevented her from calling the police. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $850.00. Cameron Bryce Edwards, 29, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on the offenses of domestic battery, failure to appear, criminal damage to property, and intimidation of a witness or victim. Edwards was issued a total bond of $3,040.00 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 1000 block of Osage St. in Manhattan on April 5, 2021, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his black Cadillac Fleetwood Cruiser bicycle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 2100 block of Westchester Dr. in Manhattan on April 5, 2021, at approximately 3:01 p.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect cut a bike lock and stole her blue Trek Dual Sport bicycle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $550.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
