MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of E. Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on October 5, 2021, around 7:01 a.m. Officers listed Solida Tree Service Inc. as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a Stihl chainsaw; a Milwaukee drill, light, angle grinder, and grease gun; and a Dewalt drill and reciprocating saw from the bed of a truck. Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on October 5, 2021, around 3:10 p.m. Officers listed Walmart as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole two crossbows and shop towels. Officers filed a report for theft in the 400 block of Yuma St. in Manhattan on October 5, 2021, around 3:42 p.m. Officers listed U-Haul as the victim when it was reported a 34-year-old male suspect rented a white 2016 GMC 10-foot cargo truck from the company and did not return it. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $45,000.
