Spirit of the holidays lights up Manhattan

Friday evening, Manhattan community members lit up the streets of Manhattan in a decade long tradition, the Mayor’s Christmas Spirit of the Holidays Lighted Parade.

Mayor Reddi said attendance at last weekend’s Festival of Lights was around six thousand, and was hopeful Friday’s parade would be just as popular, in part because it benefits the Flint Hills Breadbasket.

Commissioner Wynn Butler emphasised how much fun the event is for all in attendance, including for the Mayors of Christmas Past. Former Manhattan Mayors are grandfathered into the judges panel. They give out 5 different awards that award Little Apple dollars of various amounts. Little Apple dollars can be used to shop locally.
