Patrick Mahomes played two drives for the Chiefs and threw for a touchdown to Damien Williams. Mahomes went 8/10 with 126 yards and the lone touchdown pass to Williams, his other drive resulted in a Harrison Butker field goal.
Former K-State WR Byron Pringle got his chance in Week 3 of the Preseason again. Last year he busted onto the scene, but then had an injury end his season and was never able to play in a regular season game. Last night he caught one pass for five yards on two targets. He did get one carry and it resulted in a touchdown after a six yard run.
The Chiefs wrap up the Preseason next Thursday at the Green Bay Packers, pregame will start at 6:00 on News Radio KMAN.
Andrew Luck announces retirement
The Colts were playing a game at the time the news broke just after 8:00 PM, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported.
Luck notified Colts owner Jim Irsay earlier in the day of the decision and the Colts were going to wait until Sunday for an announcement, but when news broke during the game against Chicago, they had a press conference right after the game. Luck said, “I haven’t been able to live the life I want to live. It’s taken the joy out of this game … the only way forward for me is to remove myself from football.”
Jacoby Brissett will take over as the Colts starting quarterback. Luck was the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and will turn 30 next month. Luck won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year last season, but a leg injury in the offseason has kept him out of the Preseason and he has missed significant time throughout his whole career.
The Colts will come to Arrowhead on October 6th for Sunday Night Football.
