A group of five K-State Wildcats are competing this weekend at the USA track and field championships in Eugene, Oregon. The Cats’ two NCAA title winners will both compete, Erik Kynard in the high jump and Ryann Krais in the heptathlon.
The top three finishers in each event at the USA meet qualify for the national team at the World Championships as long as they meet the “A” qualifying standard. Kynard will compete in the high jump on Sunday afternoon, while Krais will be in the heptathlon on Saturday and Sunday. Plus, Tiara Walpool will compete in the women’s triple jump on Friday afternoon, Erica Twiss is taking part in the junior heptathlon both Thursday and Friday, and Kyle Wait is in the field for the junior men’s pole vault on Saturday.
