    Congresswoman visits with Manhattan business leaders….hear interview with Cathy Dawes

    While admitting to some frustrations with current conditions in the U-S government, Second District Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins of Kansas presented what’s being called a “path to prosperity” to Manhattan area business men and women, during a luncheon hosted by the Manhattan Area Chamber of commerce Tuesday. Jenkins admits to KMAN news it hasn’t been easy in Washington D.C. these days, with what she describes as a divided government.Jenkins has harsh criticism of the U-S Senate, saying when they don’t pass a budget, they don’t pass an appropriations bill.

    Jenkins also addressed concerns about local projects during her visit to Manhattan, including construction funding for K-18 and the National Bio and Agri defense facility.She predicts at least a band-aid and extension to keep K-18 going, and says N-BAF is really supported in the U-S house.

    Following is an interview with Jenkins following the Chamber presentation:
