July unemployment numbers are in for Kansas, and the Manhattan is up from June, though still down from a year ago. Numbers released today by the Kansas Department of Labor show Manhattan’s unemployment rate for July at 4.5 percent, up from four point two in June. A year ago the unemployment rate was 5.4 percent.
Riley County was up at 4.8 percent, compared to 4.6 in June.
Pottawatomie County’s unemployment rate dropped a tenth of a percent to 5.1 percent last month. Geary County jumped from 7.9 to 8.2 percent.
