J. E. Dunn will be handling the construction of Pottawatomie County’s new jail/courthouse. The commission revealed it’s decision during Monday’s meeting in Westmoreland. Commissioner Stan Hartwich says the commission interviewed a total of four companies: Coonrod and Associates, KBS Construction, Universal Construction and J.E. Dunn Construction. The numbers proposed by J.E. Dunn came at the lowest cost to the county. The new jail/courthouse is estimated to be a $14.1 million project. County administrator Robert Reece will begin negotiating terms with the company over the next 30 days. Headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., J. E. Dunn construction is a national company with 20 offices around the United States.
