    Reminder on football parking

Football game day isn’t far away now, and the city of Manhattan has issued a reminder of game day parking ordinances. City officials indicate the ordinances are to improve safety and allow for better emergency access during Kansas State home football game days. Parking is restricted and or prohibited and tow zones are established along several streets near the stadium.

A complete listing can be viewed on the city’s website at www.manhattan.ks.us. A map is also available at that site.

In areas designated by the city manager, property owners are permitted to allow temporary front yard parking during game days. The parking is allowed on streets that have been limited to parking on one side, as long as the property owners have existing access to their property from the street. Front yard parking is also allowed on properties which have access to a four-lane street.

An administrative order has been drafted to address congestion, access, and safety concerns expressed by some of the residents.
