HAYS, Kan. (AP) Federal funding issues have delayed repairs to the main runway at Hays Regional Airport.
Hays City Manager Toby Dougherty told The Hays Daily News the runway project has been put on hold for about a month.
The U.S. Senate recently approved a six-week re-authorization of the Federal Aviation Administration, but more funding issues could surface when Congress returns to Washington in the fall.
Projected FAA funding for the engineering design phase of the runway rehabilitation is $350,706, or 95% of the total cost.
