Salary increase announced at Kansas State

By KMAN Staff on August 25, 2011 Local News

Continued strong student enrollment and an improved financial situation at Kansas State University will permit a permanent mid-year 2.5 percent pay increase for faculty and unclassified staff.

President Kirk Schulz indicates they realize many people have been without salary increases for a considerable time and says this represents a start toward getting salaries up to where they should be to meet K-State 2025 goals.

April Mason, provost and senior vice president says one of the outcomes they intend to reach in the first five years of the K-State 2025 plan is to achieve faculty and staff compensations competitive with peer universities.

The salary increase for faculty and unclassified staff is the first overall raise since July of 2008 according to Bruce Shubert, vice president for administration and finance.
