In a short meeting Tuesday night, Manhattan’s City Commission approved two items slated on the general agenda unanimously. First up was a plan for a new Traffic Operations facility, which will be located on the east and west sides of 11th street, north of Fort Riley Boulevard and south of El Paso Lane. The facility will house office space, parking, and areas for the storage of vehicles and equipment.
Also on the agenda was the Commission’s approval for the consolidated dispatch plan, which will combine dispatch to Manhattan’s emergency services. Manhattan Fire Chief Jerry Snyder was present to provide several reasons why the plan would be advantageous to Manhattan. The Commission agreed, and the plan moves on.
