Manhattan is a magnet for animal and agriculture research as of late, and last night’s Manhattan City Commission meeting furthered that aim slightly with an economic development request. India-based Prathista International Incorporated came forward with the request, which would use the armory building near the Manhattan Regional Airport for research and development on fermentation-based fertilizers and feed additives. The Commission moved the item forward by a unanimous vote, and will consider it further on December 20th.
Also on the slate was another step forward for Lot 9, with the developers presenting the development agreement and preliminary plans for the lot. The Commission approved the development agreement 4 to 1, and the plans by the same margin.
