The most recent map, Map N2, was present to the board to give an idea of where the redistricting committee is sitting at this point. With this presentation brought community input. About a dozen people got up and commented during the meeting. Some wanted to say let them be, others were pushing to help the image of Ogden’s school. The board, however, showed that the schools are full and this redistricting is only a temporary fix. The discussion turned briefly to the idea of building a new elementary school. However with the unknown outlook of Fort Riley because of the national debt and the upcoming BRAC possibility, building a new elementary school will have to be put on hold. The board will get an update concerning the BRAC and NBAF during their next meeting on December 21, 2011 at 5:30 PM at the Robinson Education Center.
Other topics that were covered included updates on the construction projects and the financial audit. There was only 1 statute violation that was found during the audit.
