LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) A University of Kansas graduate and his wife are committing $2.5 million to establish an endowed scholarship to help students majoring in education.
The dean of the School of Education, Rick Ginsberg, says the gift is the largest in the school’s history. He thanked the donors, who don’t want their names released. He says that once the scholarship program is in place, it will attract the best students.
Ginsberg says one goal of the scholarship is to help education students understand and appreciate the larger system in which their work will be a part.
This gift will count toward a fundraising campaign that is scheduled for public kickoff April 28.
