Before embarking on his K-State career, Manhattan High’s Deante Burton will play one more high school football game. Burton has been selected to play for the West squad in the 39th Kansas Shrine Bowl this July. Burton was a two-year starter and had 20 receptions this season for 327 yards and five touchdowns. He also picked off a pair of passes anchoring the Indians’ secondary. Lining up across from Burton on the East squad will be Rock Creek’s Logan Miner. He helped lead the Mustangs within one point of the 3A state championship game this season. Miner ran for 1,207 yards and 18 touchdowns, and passed for another two scores.
The 2012 Kansas Shrine Bowl is Saturday, July 28th at Welch Stadium in Emporia.
