A man convicted in Riley County nearly 30 years ago for second degree murder is up for parole the next month.
Michael Long, 58, began serving his sentence in March of 1983, in connection with a case in August of 1982. Long has served most of his time at Larned correctional Mental Health Facility.
Public comment sessions are set for next month; March 19 at City Hall in Kansas City, the 20th at the Finney State office building in Wichita, and the 21st at the Landon State office building in Topeka.
The actual parole hearing is during April, with the earliest possible release date in May.
Those with concerns can also send a letter to the Kansas Department of corrections in Topeka.
