MANHATTAN, Kan. – Rodney McGruder scored 24 points and Kansas State used an 18-6 run at the start of the second half to pull away from Oklahoma State and defeat the Cowboys 77-58 on Saturday.
Jamar Samuels, who was playing his final home game as a Wildcat, posted his fourth double-double in his last six games with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Henriquez chipped in 16 points to go along with eight rebounds.
A Samuels basket, Michael Cobbins foul, and subsequent free-throw at the 2:33 mark of the second half gave K-State it’s largest lead of the game at 77-54.
Kansas State honored Samuels as well as fellow senior Victor Ojeleye before the start of the game. Ojeleye scored K-State’s first basket of the game at the 18:51 mark of the first half.
McGruder’s 24 points gave him 20 or more for the third time in the last four games.
Keiton Page led the Cowboys with 22 points, which included six 3-pointers. Cezar Guerrero came off the bench to put up 15 points along with five assists and three steals.

Kansas State will be the 5-seed in this year’s Big 12 Tournament after finishing 10-8 in conference games. The Wildcats will now travel to the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., where they will square off with 4-seeded Baylor in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 Tournament.
