Multiple opportunities to give blood on the way

Giving blood can save a life, and there are a few opportunities to donate coming up very soon.

The Manhattan Community Blood Drive will be held March 27-28 at Pottorf Hall. As always, new donors are always needed, which is especially true in the next few weeks.

“One of the things that may be a little concern this time is that we have Kansas State University”s blood drive coming up,”  Kristi Ingalls, American Red Cross Senior Donor Recruitment Representative, says. “And we also have the Manhattan High School’s blood drive, so we’ll be using several of those regular donors who come to the community blood drive at other drives.”

Ingalls isn’t too concerned, however, as both K-State and Manhattan High student’s have traditionally stepped up to give blood.

The drive Tuesday will run from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., while Wednesday’s is from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. K-State’s blood drive is planned for April 17-20 at various locations on campus. For more information, visit the Red Cross’ website.
