Manhattan citizens need to be on the lookout for magazine salesmen. Two arrests have been made regarding “soliciting without a permit”.

On Friday, Jason Adams, 24, of Titusville, Florida, was arrested around 1:00 p.m. on the 600 Block of Bertrand.  Adams was reported to have been walking around knocking on doors trying to sell “Back A Winner” magazines.  He claimed that there were 12 other salesman in the area selling for the same company.

A similar arrest was made on Monday on the 200 Block of Juliette.  Adam Zulegur, 26, of Valparasio, Indiana, was reported to have been walking around door to door selling magazines.  When asked to show his permit, he could not produce one.  He also reported that there were other salesman in the area selling magazines.

Both men were arrested with bonds of $128.

Riley County Police are further investigating this crime, but want to encourage Manhattan citizens to ask salesmen to see their permit before purchasing anything from them.
