– The Manhattan High boys golf team edged out Seaman for the Salina Central Invitational title yesterday (Monday). The Tribe turned in a team score of 303 at Salina Municipal, and the Vikings were one shot back at 304. MHS’ David Woods earned medalist honors with a bogey-free three under par 67. Scott Woods came in 3rd with a 73, and Cole Dillon also tied for 7th with an 80.
– The Riley County boys won the Washington County Invitational last (Monday) night to open up the 2012 season. Four Falcons finished 1st in field events, Joel Garver in the long jump, Chris Garten in the triple jump, Jake Brazzle in the discus, and Shay Lehmann in the shot put.
The Riley County girls came in second at Washington County. Three Falcons distance runners claimed first place, Cajsa Larson in the 800 meter run, Emily Collins in the 1600 meter run, and Stacy Pachta in the 3200 meter run.
