Now that his playing days are over, K-State officially named Chester Frazier as the assistant coach to fill out Bruce Weber’s first staff. The 26-year old Frazier was a four-year letterman for Weber from 2005-2009 at Illinois. He averaged 4.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 125 games in helping lead the Illini to three NCAA tournaments. Since graduating from Illinois in 2009, Frazier spent one year as a graduate assistant and video coordinator for the Illini. He also played two years professionally in Germany, where he averaged 7.7 points per game this past season in leading his team to the league semifinals.
Frazier is a Baltimore, MD native, and Weber expects him to use his recruiting contacts on the East Coast. He joins associate head coach Chris Lowery and assistant Alvin Brooks III on the staff, along with director of men’s basketball operations Brad Korn, and strength and conditioning coach Jimmy Price.
