Emergency responders have extracted a Shilling Construction employee from a conveyor belt, where he was trapped and severely injured.
According to Riley county police Lt. Steve Boyda, the site is on McDowell Creek road. The injured employee is en route to Mercy Regional Health Center, and will be Life starred from that location. KMAN will continue updates as information becomes available. The victim is a 24-year-old male who was found trapped in a what responders called an inverted cruciform position. Victim complained of arm and leg pain, but had no loss of consciousness. Injuries included burns on forehead and right arm. Victim is expected to be transported to Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.
