Former Riley County Police Narcotics officer Mark Bylkas’ federal lawsuit against past and present members of the Riley County Law Board was dismissed late Thursday. The announcement was made by the board’s Defense Attorney Mike Gillespie at this morning’s Riley County Police Department briefing.
According to Gillespie, Current RCPD Director Brad Schoen, Assistant Director John Doehling, Captain Richard Fink, and former Sergeant Michael Boller all agreed to unconditionally unoppose the dismissal.
As a result, the one thing Bylkas received was an unconditional agreement to dismiss the federal case.
Bylkas was fired from the department amid allegations over missing cocaine evidence and other charges. His lawsuit claimed he was fired in retaliation for reporting misconduct among other RCPD officers.
