TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A Shawnee County Commission candidate is offering a reward for the return of 250 campaign signs.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that Bob Archer says the signs were stolen from people’s yards earlier this week. The current Topeka City Council member said in a statement released Saturday morning that the signs had been located at residences throughout the city.
The signs were stolen between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m. both Thursday and Friday. He estimated that the signs for worth about $1,000.
Archer says he has ordered new signs and hopes to have them out in the next week.
Archer noted that in many yards where his signs were stolen, signs for candidates in other races remained in place. He encouraged anyone with information to call police.
