September 7th marks the start of master gardener training in Riley County. The training will continue every Friday through November and teach gardeners about various topics and information that they can share with their neighbors, family and friends.
Riley County Extension Horticulture Agent, Gregg Eyestone, says “master gardeners are basically advocates for information on gardening aspects.” Master gardeners also assist with various local projects, including the Riley County Fair, “Back to Gardening Night”, and the spring garden tour.
