Rock Creek’s School Board has its first candidate filing. Mark Caffrey is trying for Position Five in the USD 323 district.

Caffrey tells KMAN he’s lived in the school district since 1990 and has a high school daughter who is a sophmore, having started in Westmoreland Elementary school. Caffrey adds he’s served on a committee regarding the last bond issue, which passed. And he indicates it’s his turn to serve the public school system, which he strongly supports.

Position five is currently held by Kyle Hudson, who reportedly has indicated he will not seek re-election.

And a Leonardville man has filed for re-election to the Riley County USD 378 School Board. Steven Reed is trying for Position Five, which he has been serving in.

A reminder that the election is April second, with a February 26th primary if needed.
