A Fake Patty’s day arrest turned for the worst, when an individual sped away from an officer, and then received multiple charges. A search warrant also stemmed from this arrest two days later.
Around 9:23 p.m. on Saturday, a Riley County police officer on foot patrol in Aggieville completed a traffic stop on a vehicle, driven by 19 year old K-State student-Kevin Decock, in the 1200 block of Laramie Street for a traffic infraction.
When the officer approached the vehicle, Decock accelerated and drove away. He was then apprehended around half a block away by another police officer.
An investigation was conducted, and led to the arrest of Decock for DUI, Interference with law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, no Kansas drug tax stamp and identity fraud.
Decock was held in lieu of a $9,000 bond.
Police executed a search warrant for Haymaker Hall, where Decock resides, around 1:45 p.m. Monday afternoon. Preventive measures were taken during the search, and no hazardous materials were located.
