A new bridge in southeast Pottawatomie County will open, after the project was completed sooner than expected.
Wednesday, the new U.S. 24 bridge, located over the Deep Creek drainage area near Belvue, will open to unrestricted traffic.
The new bridge structure has been completed and crews will shift traffic from the shoofly detour, back on to the newly completed bridge this afternoon.
The Kansas Department of Transportation mentioned in their press release that they are thankful for Ebert Construction Company and the KDOT construction crews’ hard work in completing this project a month ahead of schedule.
This bridge replacement project began back in June and was projected to cost around $626,995.
