By John Kurtz on October 16, 2014 High School Sports, Sports

Manhattan High wrestler Kendrick Rivera signed his letter of intent to wrestle for Baker University on Thursday morning at MHS. Baker is one of 50 NAIA schools nationwide with a wrestling program.

Rivera chose Baker over athletic and academic scholarship offers from Hastings College (Nebraska), Lyons College (Arkansas) and Simpson College (Iowa).

Last season, he was a state qualifier at 29-15 during his first varsity season with the Indians. He helped lead Manhattan to a 6th place finish at state.

The high school wrestling season starts on Monday, November 17th for Rivera and Manhattan High.
