
Each bid contained three options. The first for a whole new fire station, an alternate for an interior build-out, and a second alternate for two trench drains as well as a storage room.
The bids were as follows:
- Construction Services Bryant, Inc. of Wichita: base bid-$729,000, alternate #1-$87,000, alternate #2-$7,800
- Cheney Construction, Inc. of Manhattan: base bid-$574,964, alternate #1-$76,163, alternate #2-$7,400
- Schultz Construction of Manhattan: base bid-$595,000, alternate #1-$73,000, alternate #2-$7,500
- Ron Fowles Construction of Manhattan: base bid-$631,300, alternate #1-$95,000, alternate #2-$6,700
- Kelley Construction of Topeka-base bid-#638,500, alternate #1-$82,000, alternate #2-$8,300
- Riley Construction Co. Inc. of Wamego-base bid-$623,000, alternate #1-$77,000, alternate #2-$9,300
All of the bids were approved to move forward for staff evaluation and recommendation.

Planning and Special Projects Director, Monty Wedel also presented the proposed agritourism amendments, as a task force has been working on adjusting some of the language in the documents.
He mentioned the group is not yet ready to ask for approval, but he believes after another task force meeting-the amendments should be completed.
