A Manhattan man has filed for election to the Riley County Commission. Marvin Rodriguez filed Wednesday with the Riley County Clerk’s office. Rodriguez is trying for the second district position, currently held by Robert Boyd. Rodriguez has listed his party as Republican.
Rodriguez grew up in Junction City and graduated from Kansas State University in the class of 1966. Rodriguez tells KMAN he decided to run for County Commission to fulfill his goal of getting more involved in the community. Rodriguez says he would like to see more local government transparency in order to help strengthen voter’s trust in local leaders.
