City revenue funds and projections saw a review, Tuesday night.
The items were given a closer look, as Manhattan City Commissioners prepare to deal with a potential tax lid.
Under a recently passed state law, city and county governments need to hold a public vote if they want to raise spending by more than an adjusted Consumer Price Index rate.
Commissioners dedicated their bi-weekly work session to discussing their options and gaining a better understanding of the measure.
If voters choose not to approve increases, property tax rates will have to be cut on the city and county level.
Commissioner Usha Reddi informed her co-commissioners that she finds the measure “a little insulting,” saying further “I don’t find the mandate ethical.”
The commission continues to consider all options.
