    RCPD report 3/10/16

    RCPDReportOfficers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Conner Goss-Griffin, 24, of Topeka, Kansas on a warrant for the offense of failure to appear. This warrant had an original offense of burglary and was served at the Riley County Police Department. Goss-Griffin was given a total bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. He was arrested on March 9, 2016 at approximately 11:00 AM.


     

    Mark Hecker, 20, of Wamego, Kansas was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on the offense of aggravated assault on March 9, 2016 at approximately 11:45 AM. Hecker was given a bond of $5,000.00 for the offense which originated in December of last year. He was confined at the time of this report.


     

    RCPD arrested Brian Havens, 36, of Manhattan while at the Riley County Police Department on the offense of failure to appear which was listed on a warrant with an original offense of violation of protection order. Havens was given a bond of $10,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. He was arrested on March 9, 2016 at approximately 4:30 PM.


     

    The Riley County Police Department is investigating an aggravated battery after a 20-year-old female became the victim when struck by a vehicle which is said to have swerved to her direction. The vehicle driven by a 17-year-old male suspect was listed as being a 4-door sedan. The police report indicated that the female was transported to Via Christi Hospital as a result of this incident (RCPD original mentioned this incident as a hit and run accident earlier this week). As the investigation into the crime is ongoing no further information was available to release at the time of this report. This report was filed in the 3100 block of Ella Lane in Manhattan on March March 9, 2016 at 5:00 PM for the incident which took place at approximately 3:00 AM on March 6th.


     

    Police took a report for and have begun investigating aggravated indecent liberties with a child that is listed as having occurred on March 6, 2016 between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM. This crime occurred in the city limits of Manhattan and involved a 14-year-old female and a male suspect who is 19 years of age. The victim and suspect in this investigation are known to each other. Police continue to investigate the matter and at the time of this report no further information was available for release.
