    RCPDReportManhattan, Kan. – On April 3, 2016 at approximately 3:55PM it was reported to police that Kevin L. Worrell (59) of 4240 Kaw Road Manhattan, KS was manipulating a handgun at his residence when it accidentally discharged. When the handgun discharged the bullet struck his son Travis J. Worrell (33) in the left leg, who was standing in the vicinity of Kevin. Travis was transported to Via Christi Hospital and then later transferred to a medical center in Wichita, KS. Travis’s injuries are considered to be serious, but non life-threatening


     

    On April 2, 2016 at approximately 2:31PM Jeremy E. Behrens (38) of 8635 Baldwin Creek Road Leonardville, KS reported a burglary to a residence located at 7470 Rose Hill Road Randolph, KS that occurred sometime in the past couple months. The suspect(s) reportedly entered the residence and stole miscellaneous construction equipment with an estimated value of $1,060.


     

    Scott J. Poister (40) of 1022 Moro Street Apt #4 Manhattan, KS was arrested at his residence on April 2, 2016 at approximately 10:13AM on an outstanding arrest warrant for (11) counts of criminal damage to property issued by the Riley County District Court. The warrant stems from incidents of criminal damage to property that occurred on January 28th, February 2nd, February 10th, March 20th, March 21st, and March 22nd of 2016 in which Poister reportedly damaged (11) separate vehicles. Poister is currently confined in the Riley County Jail on a bond of $11,000.


     

    On April 2, 2016 at approximately 2:38AM officers were dispatched to Via Christi Hospital for a report of an individual that had accidentally shot himself while manipulating a handgun in his residence. An investigation into the incident revealed that Matthew T. Collet (29) of 811 Ratone Street Manhatta, KS was manipulating a handgun in his residence when it accidentally discharged. Collett was struck by the bullet in the hand as well as the leg. Collett’s injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.


     

    Luis F. Selvas (27) of 624 Bluemont Street Apt #3 Manhattan, KS was arrested on April 2, 2016 at approximately 1:56AM in the 1200 block of Moro Street on an outstanding arrest warrant for probation violation issued by the Riley County District Court. The warrant is a no bond warrant and stems from a prior offense of distribution of marijuana. Selvas is currently being held at the Riley County Jail.


     

    Tanahka T. Campbell (21) of 1533 Ash Street Apt #3 Junction City, KS was arrested on April 1, 2016 at approximately 2:53PM at 1000 Westloop Place Manhattan, KS for the offenses of sale of a controlled substance, sale of cocaine (2 counts), and unlawful use of a telecommunications device (3 counts). Campbell’s bond was set at $27,000 and at the time of this report is no longer confined.


     

    On April 1, 2016 at approximately 11:08AM Roy W. Patterson (47) of Manhattan, KS reported that sometime in the past couple days someone stole his silver 1996 Jeep Cherokee while it was parked in the 1400 block of Fair Lane Manhattan, KS. The estimated value of the Jeep is $1,000.
