The Kansas Board of Regents announced its pick for interim president of Kansas State University Thursday.

Gen. Richard B. Myers will take the position.

Myers has served as the principal military adviser to the President of the United States, Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Council.

More information on the retired U.S. Air Force General’s appointment, will be released next week during a press conference.

Myers will fill the void left by outgoing president Kirk Schulz, who, as previously reported, accepted an offer to be the new president at Washington State University on March 25.
