Riley County police are investigating the death of an infant Thursday. At approximately 9:19PM officers and additional emergency crews responded to the 500 block of Stone Drive in Manhattan for a report of an infant not breathing.
Upon arrival emergency crews confirmed the infant was not breathing and began resuscitaion efforts. Unfortunately, the infant was not revived and was later pronounced dead at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.
RCPD officials indicate an investigation into the death is on-going at this time.

On May 6, 2016 at approximately 1:52AM officers responded to 2401 Stadium Place Manhattan, KS for a report of a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival officers discovered a 2007 Pontiac Vibe on fire that belonged to Antonio D. Neal (26) of 2401 Stadium Place Apt #1 Manhattan, KS. An investigation into the incident revealed that an individual had intentionally damaged as well as set fire to the vehicle. A criminal report of arson and criminal damage to property was subsequently filed. The investigation into the incident is on-going at this time.

Gary J. Blackburn (51) of 115 Ninth Street Ogden, KS was arrested on May 5, 2016 at approximately 9:10PM following a traffic stop. Blackburn was taken into custody for the offenses of driving while suspended and possession of stolen property. The possession of stolen property consisted of stolen license plate that reportedly was taken approximately 2 months prior. Blackburn is currently being held at the Riley County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

On May 5, 2016 at approximately 5:20PM Anna Wilkins (55) reported that sometime in the past couple days her 2014 Nissan Rogue was burglarized and taken from witin the vehicle was her Ipod.
Lasheen E. Washington (35) of 315 Seventh Street Ogden, KS was arrested at the Riley County Police Department on May 5, 2016 at approximately 11:44AM for the offense of distribution of morphine. The offense took place within Riley County, KS on April 15th, 2015. Washington is currently being held at the Riley County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
