    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. –

    Officers filed a report for aggravated burglary in the 900 block of Moro St. in Manhattan on November 3, 2019, at approximately 6:10 AM. Officer listed a 34-year-old female as the victim when she reported three unknown persons entered her residence without permission and took items. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for criminal use of a financial card in Manhattan on November 2, 2019, at approximately 7:15 AM. Officers listed a 33-year-old female as the victim when she reported an unknown suspect used her credit card to purchase an iPad. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery, criminal damage to property, theft and aggravated kidnapping in Manhattan on November 2, 2019, at approximately 8:00 PM. Officers listed a 20-year-old female as the victim and a 27-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported (domestic), no additional information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for sexual battery in Manhattan on November 1, 2019, at approximately 12:10 PM. Officers listed a 20-year-old female as the victim and a 20-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 800 block of Moro St. in Manhattan on November 1, 2019, at approximately 1:10 Pm. Officers listed a 28-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect damaged his Chevy Silverado. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,350.00.  Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery, in Manhattan on November 2, 2019, at approximately 4:50 AM. Officers listed a 55-year-old male as the victim and a 63-year-old female as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported (domestic), no additional information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 600 block of E Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on November 1, 2019, at approximately 1:50 PM. Officers listed Best Western as the victim when one known and one unknown suspect damaged a window at the business. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,200.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated assault, aggravated assault on LEO, battery LEO, interference with LEO, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana near the intersection of Leavenworth St. and North 10th St. in Manhattan on November 1, 2019, at approximately 5:05 PM. Officers listed a 30-year-old male and a 47-year-old male as both the victims and the suspects. The report also lists one RCPD Officer and one RCPD Corrections officers as victims. Joshua Stepney, 30, of Manhattan was arrested while in the 400 block of Leavenworth St. in Manhattan on November 1, 2019, at approximately 5:50 PM. Stepney was arrested on offenses of aggravated assault of LEO, battery on LEO, interference with LEO, possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and aggravated assault. Stepney was issued a total bond of $20,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report. Adriano Garnuette, 47, of Manhattan was arrested while in the 400 block of Leavenworth St. in Manhattan on November 1, 2019, at approximately 5:50 PM. Garnuette was arrested on an offense of aggravated assault. Garnuette was issued a total bond of $8,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated burglary, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with LEO and theft in the 900 block of Leavenworth St. in Manhattan on November 2, 2019, at approximately 4:40 AM. Officers listed a 20-year-old female and a 21-year-old female as the victims when a known male suspect made entry into the victim’s residence.
