    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 3600 block of Everett Dr. in Manhattan on August 26, 2021, around 7:15 a.m. Officers listed a 49-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his blue 2006 Pontiac G6 with golf clubs and a football uniform inside. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $4,180. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary in the 3900 block of Snowy Reach in Manhattan on August 26, 2021, around 8:06 a.m. Officers listed a 56-year-old female and 20- and 63-year-old males as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into their cars and stole sunglasses, cash and other miscellaneous items. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $3,420. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1200 block of Laramie St. in Manhattan on August 28, 2021, around 1:54 a.m. Officers listed McCullough Development as the victim when it was reported a 32-year-old male suspect broke two windows. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1000. Richard Breen, 32, of Manhattan was arrested in connection for criminal damage to property. Breen was issued a total bond of $750 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Officers responded to the report of a medical call in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Rd. in Manhattan on August 29, 2021, around 6:29 a.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a deceased 32-year-old female. The investigation is pending. No foul play is suspected at this time.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1800 block of Fair Ln. in Manhattan on August 29, 2021, around 10:15 a.m. Officers listed Little Apple Liquidation as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole forks for a forklift. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000. The forks were later located in the middle of a road and returned to the owner. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary in the 1500 block of University Dr. in Manhattan on August 29, 2021, around 2:49 p.m. Officers listed Tim Dewey Hay LLC, and a 20-year-old male as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into a car and stole a Smith and Wesson handgun and cash. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $620. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for attempted aggravated burglary in the 2100 block of Prairie Glen Pl. in Manhattan on August 29, 2021, around 9:33 p.m. Officers listed a 10-year-old male and a 54-year-old female as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect attempted to enter their home, the 54-year-old female suspect closed a door on the suspect causing them to flee. There were no injuries or loss reported. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
