Officers filed a report for theft by deception in the 600 block of Schurle Way in Riley on January 11, 2022, around 1:00 p.m. Officers listed a 68-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect posing as customer service for Amazon Prime scammed him out of $1,500 in Visa gift cards as payment for a “fraudulent return”. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers responded to a medical call in the 3300 block of Fairman Cir. in Manhattan on January 11, 2022, around 1:34 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a deceased 59-year-old female. No foul play is suspected at this time, an autopsy is pending.

Officers filed a report for fraud in the 1100 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on January 11, 2022, around 2:16 p.m. Officers listed Rickels Liquor as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect used a credit card that didn’t belong to them to purchase approximately $700 worth of alcohol.

Officers filed a report for fraud in Manhattan on January 11, 2022, around 4:09 p.m. Officers listed a 63-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect wrote seven fraudulent checks out of an investment account.
