    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law and in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 2300 block of Kanza Pl. in Manhattan on September 23, 2022, around 10:00 a.m. A 39-year-old male was listed as the victim when it was reported an 18-year-old male suspect stole his 2011 Honda CRZ with a laptop inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $8,500.

    Officers filed a report for fraud in Manhattan on September 23, 2022, around 6:15 p.m. A 22-year-old female was listed as the victim when it was reported she was scammed through Facebook and sent $660 to an unknown suspect and didn’t receive it back. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 2100 block of Northview Dr. in Manhattan on September 23, 2022, around 6:45 p.m. Officers listed a 28-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a window to her home was broken. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for robbery in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on September 24, 2022, around 2:30 a.m. A 20-year-old female was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown male suspect stole a bracelet from her. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in the 800 block of Vattier St. in Manhattan on September 24, 2022, around 11:15 a.m. A 43-year-old female was listed as the victim when it was reported a 38-year-old male suspect threatened her with a screwdriver.

    Officers filed a report for theft and criminal damage to property in the 500 block of Bertrand St. in Manhattan on September 24, 2022, around 12:45 p.m. A 63-year-old male was listed as the victim when it was reported the catalytic converter on his truck was cut off and stolen.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property (domestic-related) in Manhattan on September 24, 2022, around 10:30 p.m. A 24-year-old female was listed as the victim when it was reported a 30-year-old male suspect damaged her HP laptop. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000.

    Officers responded to a fight in progress in the 1100 block of Moro St. in Aggieville, Manhattan on September 25, 2022, around 1:30 a.m. A 24-year-old female was witnessed punching a female victim in the face in the Alley behind Tate’s bar. A 22-year-old male then punched the 24-year-old female as officers were detaining her. Venetta Smith, 24, of Junction City and William Washington, 22, of Fort Riley were both arrested for disorderly conduct. Both were issued total bonds of $500 and are no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Officers responded to a fight in progress in the 1100 block of Moro St. in Aggieville, Manhattan on September 25, 2022, around 1:45 a.m. A 22-year-old male was witnessed punching a male victim in the face and head in front of Hi Lo. Jose Campos, 22, of Manhattan was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was issued a total bond of $500 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for battery in the 1000 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on September 25, 2022, around 3:15 a.m. A 23-year-old female was listed as the victim when it was reported a 22-year-old female suspect punched her in the face.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 5000 block of Murray Rd. in Manhattan on September 25, 2022, around 11:30 a.m. 26- and 61-year-old females were listed as the victims when it was reported their storage units were broken into and golf clubs, a terrarium, and a bowl were stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $660. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 400 block of Fifteenth St. in Ogden on September 25, 2022, around 4:15 p.m. A 44-year-old male was listed as the victim when it was reported a 24-year-old male suspect stole his 1998 Dodge Dakota with the keys inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is unknown at this time. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, failure to appear, and violation of a protection order in Manhattan on September 25, 2022, around 11:15 p.m. An 18-year-old female and a 22-year-old male were listed as both the victims and suspects when it was reported a fight had occurred between the two. Ronald Saunders, 22, of Leawood was arrested in connection for aggravated domestic battery, failure to appear, and violation of a protection order. He remains confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $16,000.
