Following years of challenges with construction and COVID-19, another Aggieville business is in danger of closing.
The Dusty Bookshelf stated in a Facebook post Thursday that they are “seeking acquisition in lieu of pending closure.”
They note that once the Dusty Bookshelf’s current lease expires in the spring of next year, their rent rate will be multiplying and can no longer afford to keep its doors open under their current business model.
According to the post, “Since 1985, the Dusty Bookshelf has been a staple of the Aggieville Business District…buying and selling second-hand books and fostering a deep sense of community.”
Before becoming the Dusty Bookshelf, the historic building at the corner of Moro Street and North Manhattan Avenue had been selling books since 1898.
