Two Manhattan men confined in the Riley County Jail were arrested on new charges Wednesday.

According to Thursday’s RCPD report, 41-year-old Aaron Flower is accused of battering three corrections officers and breaking a window in the jail, causing about $2,000 worth of damage. Flower has been charged with three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and criminal damage to property. Police say Flower was previously arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct in early August. He remains jailed on a $25,000 bond.

Earlier in the day, RCPD arrested 21-year-old Nicholas Chavez on a Riley County warrant charging him with interference and battery on a law enforcement officer from. The incident stems from a July 29 incident where Chavez reportedly kicked two officers and interfered with them as they were detaining him. Chavez, who was already jailed following a September 3 arrest for battery, remains jailed on a $5,000 bond.
