The City of Manhattan is expected to announce the start of the East Manhattan Gateway Plan process next week.
The city will be hosting a couple of community open houses on Monday and Tuesday allowing for residents to share their thoughts on what should go into the plan.
The first meeting will be held from 4:30 to 6 on Monday at the Army National Guard at 721 Levee Drive and the second meeting will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 5:30 at the Crestview Christian Church on 3940 Excel Road.
Project leader Ben Chimel says that the meetings are important as community input will be critical in the city’s development of the plan. The city will also be allowing more feedback through surveys, interactive maps and other community open houses coming up in the coming months.
