Riley County Police Department officials are looking at different ways to fund school resource officers to help save money for government entities like Manhattan that are dealing with fiscal shortages.
At Monday’s Riley County Law Enforcement Agency Board meeting, Riley County attorney and law board member Barry Wilkerson said the discussion about funding school resource officers must start now, and that the board should not wait until the next budget season arrives.
