A 15-year-old female from Eskridge sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Wabaunsee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m., about three miles west of Mission Valley High School. The driver, identified as Corbi M. Tenpenny, was westbound on Mission Valley Road when the 2005 Ford F-250 she was driving left the north edge of the roadway. Tenpenny overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross both lanes of the road, enter the south ditch, and overturn multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels.
Tenpenny, who was not wearing a safety restraint at the time of the crash, was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City with suspected serious injuries.
No additional details or updates on Tenpenny’s condition have been released.
