    Wamego boys win 4A state cross country crown

    – The Wamego boys entered the state cross country meet as the favorites in Class 4A. The Red Raiders held true to form by winning the state title at home at Wamego Country Club, edging out runner-up Mulvane. Jordan Routh led the Wamego charge by finishing 7th. The Wamego girls came in 8th in the 4A team standings as Allison Seufert  finished 15th.

    – The Manhattan High boys and girls each came in sixth in the 6A team standings at Rim Rock Farm, near Lawrence.  Alaina Schroeder was third in the girls race, while Chris Melgares was 10th in the boys race.

    – The Riley County girls and boys each finished fifth in the 3A state meet at Rim Rock. Stacy Pachta was 5th in the girls race, while Brandon Mechels ran a season-best time for 19th.
